These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of Still Ocean Therapy's services, located at https://stilloceantherapy.com.
By booking a therapy sessions, we assume you or a legal guardian accept these terms and conditions.
Confidentiality and Privacy
Limits of Confidentiality:
Confidentiality may be breached if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others (e.g., if you are at risk of suicide, harm, or abuse). Confidentiality may also be broken if required by law (e.g., in cases of abuse or if subpoenaed by court order
Communication Security:
While online platforms such as Google Meet have secure encryption, no method of communication is 100% secure. By consenting to online therapy, you acknowledge that while reasonable efforts will be made to ensure confidentiality, absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.
Third-Party Access:
Information about your therapy will not be shared with any third parties without your consent, except as noted in the confidentiality section.
Your Responsibilities
Personal Information:
You are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date personal information, including emergency contact details, current health issues, and other relevant information necessary for therapy.
Session Attendance:
You are expected to attend scheduled sessions on time. If you are unable to attend, please give at least 24 hours’ notice. Failure to do so will result in a charge for the missed session.
Technology and Setup:
You must have access to reliable internet, a working device with a camera and microphone (for video sessions), and a private, quiet environment to ensure confidentiality. If you are unable to connect due to technical difficulties, we will make efforts to reschedule the session.
Limits of Online Therapy
Technical Issues:
Online therapy is subject to potential interruptions due to technical difficulties, such as poor internet connection or equipment malfunctions. We will work together to reschedule sessions in the case of interrupted sessions.
Crisis and Emergency Situations:
Online therapy is not suitable for clients in acute crisis or those with urgent mental health needs. If you are experiencing a crisis or emergency, please contact a local emergency service or crisis hotline, or go to the nearest emergency room. Still Ocean Therapy is not suitable to provide crisis intervention in an online setting.
By using our services, you agree that Still Ocean Therapy and its Therapists are not responsible for outcomes beyond their reasonable control or outside the scope of the sessions.
Suitability of Services and Referrals
Still Ocean Therapy reserves the right to determine whether its services are appropriate for a prospective or current client. If it is assessed that the client’s needs fall outside the scope of services offered, or that online therapy is not suitable for their specific situation, Still Ocean Therapy may: decline to accept the client for therapy, or recommend or refer the client to an alternative service, provider, or support resource that is better suited to their needs.
Payment and Fees
Fees:
The fee for each session is £45 per session, payable by bank transfer.
Payment is required 48 hours prior to the session, unless otherwise arranged.
Cancellation Policy:
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please notify at least 24 hours in advance.
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be subject to a 20% (£9.60) late-cancellation fee.
Sessions that are not cancelled and not attended are not eligible for a refund.
Insurance:
Still Ocean Therapy is not currently recognised as an approved provider by most insurance companies. Clients are therefore responsible for all fees associated with their sessions, unless otherwise confirmed by their insurer.
Client Rights
Right to Withdraw Consent:
You have the right to withdraw consent for therapy at any time without penalty. You may discontinue therapy whenever you choose, and we will discuss an appropriate plan for transitioning to a different provider, if needed.
Right to Request Information:
You have the right to request a copy of your records or to inquire about the details of your therapy at any time. If you wish to request a transfer of your records to another professional, you will be asked to sign a release form.
International
While our service is based in the UK, clients outside the UK may book sessions.
While our service is based in the UK, counselling therapists may conduct sessions outside the UK.
Please note that Still Ocean Therapy is not a suitable service for emergencies or crises.
