Still Ocean Therapy is an online therapy practiced founded with the aim to provide high-quality, evidence-based mental health services to young people and individuals throughout the UK and abroad. Based on years of experience, we are passionate and dedicated about helping individuals face mental health challenges to achieve long-lasting growth.
How does Still Ocean Therapy work?
Still Ocean Therapy offers 50 minute short-term as well as open-ended online counselling therapy via Google Meet for individuals and young individuals.
What do I need for online therapy?
To attend our online therapy, you will need a quiet, private space, a stable internet connection, and a device such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Using headphones can also help improve sound quality and privacy.
How long does therapy take?
The length of therapy at Still Ocean Therapy is client-led and depends on your unique needs and goals. We offer both short-term, solution-focused therapy, which is typically brief and aimed at addressing specific challenges in 8-10 sessions, and open-ended therapy, which provides a more flexible, ongoing process for deeper exploration.
Therapy is ultimately guided by your preferences and pace, so the duration is always determined by what feels right to you. Whether you're seeking a quick resolution to a particular issue or ongoing support for personal growth and long-term patterns, we aim to make our sessions an open conversation, so you feel comfortable adjusting the course to suit your needs.
What is online therapy, and how does it work?
Online therapy, also known as teletherapy or virtual counselling, allows you to connect with a licensed therapist and attend therapy through video calls. It’s convenient, flexible, and accessible from the comfort of your own home. During a session, you'll discuss your concerns just like you would in traditional face-to-face therapy, but with the added benefit of privacy and flexibility.
Is online therapy suitable for emergencies?
Still Ocean Therapy is not a suitable services for crises or emergencies. If you are in danger or experiencing an emergency, contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately.
Is online therapy confidential and secure?
Yes, Still Ocean Therapy sessions are fully confidential, meaning everything you discuss with your therapist is kept private and protected under professional ethical guidelines. All sessions are conducted over Google Meet, a secure, encrypted platform designed to safeguard your personal information and ensure safe communication. We also hold ICO registration, meaning we comply with strict data protection laws and follow industry-standard practices for storing, handling, and protecting your data. This ensures your privacy, security, and confidentiality are always a top priority.
How do I choose the right therapist and therapy practice for my needs?
Looking for a qualified counselling therapist with the right credentials and experience is important. At Still Ocean therapy, you can rest assured knowing that we are registered and accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which holds counselling therapist to the highest ethical standards. With five years providing counselling services and over 800 clinical hours, we are experienced and committed to providing a safe and professional therapeutic environment for all clients.

What is the free 20-minute consultation, and do I have to have one?
The free 20-minute consultation is a short, no-pressure online meeting that takes place before your first therapy session. This is a chance for us to meet one another, discuss your needs, answer any questions about therapy, and explore what you hope to achieve. The consultation is completely free and optional, but highly recommended as a first step before starting regular sessions.
